The Ferguson Report Outstanding Achievement Awards:
John Grohol, psychcentral.com Richard Rockefeller, Health Commons Institute
John Grohol, Psy.D. www.grohol.com Richard Rockefeller, M.D. Founder and President, Health Commons Institute Richard was one of the first medical professionals to realize (1) that the doctor-patient relationship is fast becoming the doctor-patient-computer relationship, and (2) that this is a good, not a bad thing, because (3) new computer systems can free physicians from the "tyranny of knowledge" and help them spend more time attending to the personal needs of their patients.. Richard started Health Commons Institute, in Falmouth, Maine, in 1992, to help health professionals understand how new technologies can serve both human and scientific needs. He and his colleagues have done exactly that. Richard Rockefeller, M.D. www.maine.com/hci/ rgrock@earthlink.net 207.781.1675 Published in The Ferguson Report, Number 5, July 1999 | ||
